Rivals says: Rutgers

I say......

40. Boston College Eagles

Time, tradition, and experience. These are things that Boston College has in bounds and is the reason they are in my top third of the teams in 1-A football. This team is solid, no real weaknesses, but definitely lacks anything to get excited about. The team brings back it's quarterback, leading runner, and most of the offensive line. Both sides of the ball will see five starters back, however, there are only two all-ACC players among them. The Eagles were good but not great in almost every area last year and the returning talent has me thinking that they will be about the same this year. The good news? I there was ever a schedule designed to make a good team look like a great team, it's the Eagles lineup this year.

In ACC play, they will get to skip Georgia Tech, North Carolina, and Miami, leaving only Virginia Tech as a conference bullt on the schedule. The Atlantic division looks to have no real strong favorite, with most picking Clemson or Florida State to play in conference championship game, however BC is not far behind these in talent and has the advantage of not making a coaching change over Florida State. If they can win one or both of these games, they could find themselves playing for a ACC championship once again, making the Eagles a dark horse for a BCS bid.

The BCS is not likely for this squad but reaching a bowl seems a near-certainty. The Eagles schedule will end with Wake Forest, Duke, Virginia, and Syracuse (all among the worst teams in the country from BCS conferences). Most of the big games (Notre Dame, Virginia Tech, and Clemson) come at home, with the only road worry being Florida State. The rest of the schedule is NC State, Maryland, Weber St, and Kent St. That being said, anything less than eight wins will be a disappointment, conference title game or not.
